Mamta Kulkarni recalls SRK, Salman Khan 'sniggered' at her on Karan Arjun set

Former Bollywood actor Mamta Kulkarni, who was recently expelled from Kinnar Akhara, revisited the shoot of her 1995 film Karan Arjun, co-starring Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Kajol. She shared that during the making of the Rakesh Roshan directorial, Salman shut the door in her face, and he and SRK "sniggered" at her.

In a recent interaction with India TV, Mamta, 52, recalled an incident from Karan Arjun. "Chinni Prakash was the choreographer of Karan Arjun. Both Shah Rukh and Salman had gone for the shoot, and I was sitting alone. After almost an hour and a half, Chinni Prakash’s assistant knocked on my door. I said, ‘What happened?’ He said, ‘Masterji is calling you,’" she narrated.

She continued, "Then I went up. There were stairs, and as I was climbing up, both Salman and Shah Rukh passed by me and sniggered. I was quiet. It was about 8 in the evening when I reached Masterji. He told me, ‘This particular step, you will do it alone.’ I was like, ‘What are you saying?’”

The next day, Mamta aced her shot in one take. However, while she was performing, she once again saw Shah Rukh and Salman laughing from the bushes.

“The next morning, the first shot was mine. My very first shot was approved. And I saw both Shah Rukh and Salman watching me from behind a bush. And they were laughing again. The next shot was theirs—they had to do a step on their knees among 5,000 people. They took so many retakes that the director eventually called for a pack-up. We all ran to our rooms. I knew that last evening they played with me. I didn’t want to give them the opportunity to make the choreographer assign all the steps to me. So when they ran up, so did I. As soon as I reached, Salman stopped me and shut the door on my face. That was it," Mamta shared.

Calling Salman "naughty," she concluded, "I am very punctual. He would always tease me, and I would be like, ‘Shut up, Salman.’”

Mamta Kulkarni quit Bollywood in the early 2000s. She was last seen in the 2002 release Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum.
