who was Baba Siddique ?
Baba Ziauddin Siddique was an Indian politician who served as the Bandra West constituency's member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the state of Maharashtra from September 13, 1958, until October 12, 2024. In addition to serving as Minister of State for Labour and Food & Civil Supplies (FDA) under Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh from 2004 to 2008, he was the MLA for three times in a row, 1999, 2004, and 2009.
Shehzeen Siddique was the wife of Baba Siddique. Zeeshan Siddique, a son, and Arshia Siddique, a daughter, were their two children.
Unidentified assailants shot and killed Baba Siddique on Saturday night in Mumbai. According to accounts, he was at his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra at the time. He was taken to Lilavati Hospital where he passed away a few hours later from his injuries. Siddique, a three-time Bandra West MLA, left the Congress earlier in February of this year and joined Ajit Pawar's NCP.

"The event happened in Nirmal Nagar at approximately 9:30 p.m. After being shot, Baba Siddique was transported to Lilavati Hospital. The Mumbai Crime Branch is looking into the matter after two suspects were taken into custody, Dahiya said reporters. The weapon used in the incident has been found, according to Mumbai Police. "The firing was done using a 9.9mm pistol," according to officials.
